Things work a little differently in the Lounge than the other Forums of the Teen Talker. All posts start locked - this is to protect the Teen Talker from troll posts, bashing, and other nonsensical threads which don't serve a purpose. The threads must be unlocked by a moderator for actual debate to start.
If a moderator deems that the thread should stay locked, they will post in the thread commenting on their decision and justify why they made that decision. If the post is unlocked, they will comment about the unlock on the thread. If the post severely violates the Forum Rules, or does so in a way that clearly depicts an intentional violation of the Forum Rules, the post may be deleted immediately.
While the general Forum Rules also apply to the Lounge, there are several rules of the Lounge that are effective in this section of the site only.
For example:

- No derails whatsoever. The user will be given one PM warning if they derail a thread, and a moderator will comment a warning into the thread itself. The second derail and subsequent irrelevant posts will result in a Nuke, and a ban may be handed down at a moderator's discretion. Please use the General thread for that.
- No trolling. Any irrelevant conversation may be Nuked.
- No ad-hominem attacks. If you have a disagreement, attack the argument, not the person writing it.
For example:
- OK: "[Person A], while I understand your argument, I believe it is invalid because..."
- Not OK: "Person A, you are a filthy puppy kicking hypocrite."
tl;dr-
- Debate, don't destroy. Attack the argument, not the person.
- Be clear about your points. Offer evidence, don't just state a point and be done with it.
- Don't troll or derail the threads.
- Make meaningful posts. Posts like "^", "this", "yeah", "me too", "what he/she/they/said", are meaningless and don't contribute.
