@AstroAntics:
Here on The Teen Talker, we like to go for a simple system of rules. Basically, this means that there are just enough rules to get the message across, but not enough rules to be bored by:
Please follow these Rules. It makes our lives, your life, and the people-who-don't-have-to-report-posts'-lives much easier. If you break any of them, we can tell you kindly to knock it off, tell you less kindly, suspend you, or put you on the persona non grata list (i.e. temporary/permanently banned).
Is that it? I think that's it...
(If we come up with any new rules that need to be added retroactively, a moderator will reply to this post.)
Here on The Teen Talker, we like to go for a simple system of rules. Basically, this means that there are just enough rules to get the message across, but not enough rules to be bored by:
- Be polite. Don't post anything that would disparage another person. Don't do it on the threads, don't do it on PMs. If you can't say it vis a vis ("face to face") just don't say it at all.
- Don't post or link to NSFW content. Self-explanatory, really. If that's your thing, there are other sites for that on the 'Net. This rule applies to avatars too, don't have an NSFW one.
- Try and use proper grammar. Bad grammar may be corrected by a moderator - horrible grammar might be deleted on sight. We're not asking you to write a 3000-page essay about Macbeth for an English professor, just that you use proper grammar. (If you can't speak English/it isn't your first language, you should run your threads through Google Translate.)
- Use English only. Our moderation jobs are hard enough; we don't want to run your posts through a translator to figure out what you're saying, especially if it's been reported.
- Keep it on-topic. This isn't a strict dictatorship; we aren't North Korea, but threads should be kept relatively on-topic. Off-topic threads may be moved or deleted.
- PMs are private. The clue's in their name - they aren't called Personal Messages for any old reason. Don't share PMs with any third party except the intended sender and intended recipient unless permission is granted from both parties. The only exception is when reporting rule violations to a Staff Member.
- Report, don't reply. If you see a post that violates the Rules, don't reply to it, as that will just feed them their satisfaction. There's a blue "Report" button above every post. Click that, and it'll nag us that the post has been flagged. We'll take it from there.
- Don't create a new account to bypass an old ban. Again, self-explanatory. Being put on the persona non grata list means that you aren't allowed in. Creating a new account to be allowed in will result in both (or any accounts linked to that IP address) being smacked with the Banhammer, and turning them into honorary members of the persona non grata list.
